Delicious Mushroom Patty Burgers

Normally people think that vegetarian burgers have very limited variety and they are not flavorful or delicious but that’s not true. Some of the veggie burgers are really yummy especially if you choose mushroom burgers.

Mushroom burger patties are really moist, tender, savory and flavorful. I am not kidding. You can make mushroom burger patties with any kind of mushrooms like Shiitake, Chaga, Maitake, Turkey Tail, Cordyceps, White button, Lion’s Mane, Reishi etc. They all are full of flavor, vitamins, nutrients and proteins.

Trust me once you make these home made patties you will forget outside ones. So yummy and fresh. Let’s start…………..

Ingredients:

For making Patties……

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups finely chopped mushrooms of your choice
  • 2 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup mashed canned black beans
  • 2-3 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 small carrot, thickly grated
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

For Burger Toppings……

  • Hamburger buns of your choice
  • lettuce leaves
  • cheddar cheese slices
  • onion slices
  • tomato slices
  • pickles (optional)
  • mayonnaise

Method:

For making Patties……

  1. In a bowl, mix mushrooms, all purpose flour, bread crumbs, onions, garlic, carrots, black beans, salt and ground black pepper. Mix well and shape into thick round patties.
  2. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a pan. Add burger patties. Cook 3-5 minutes on each side till golden brown.

For Burger Toppings……

  1. Toast hamburger buns. Place lettuce leaves, cheddar cheese slice, patty, onion slices, tomato slices, pickles, mayonnaise on the bottom bun.
  2. Now cover with the top bun.
  3. Serve hot.

Note:

You can freeze these patties also. Once cool put them between small cut sheets of parchment paper to avoid sticking together.
